Stay in Your Lane

If you only knew how many times and how many ways God tells me to "stay in my lane!"
I'm a doer, so allowing someone else to do something that I could do is not an easy task. If I'm asked to do something, it is hard for me to say no - of course we've already established that.
HOWEVER, it is important that I, you, we, do the ministry that God has called us to do. We cannot say yes to everything that people ask us to do. We can and should say YES to what God asks us to do though.
The challenge this week is to do what God is calling us, asking us to do. If a person asks you to participate in a new ministry, then pray about it and weigh it out. Don't automatically say yes, just because this sweet person asked you to do something. If you KNOW that God is prompting you to do or not do something, then follow His direction.
Most of all - STAY IN YOUR LANE! Allow Him to direct your steps. Don't allow good intentions, skills, abilities, fear of disappointing someone, rob you of God's best for you.
1 Corinthians 12 explains this concept well. We all have gifts, but not all the same gift. Use the gift that God gave you with all of your might. Allow your gift to flourish and be a blessing to the body of Christ without trying to be the whole body.
Let me know how you progress through the week!
