Put yourself out there!
That is what our culture says, but is that Biblical?
Well, in one respect it is. You see God calls us to sow seed - at least that is what we like to call it in the Christian community. This comes from the parable of the sower and the seeds found in Matthew 13, Mark 4, and Luke 8. We are the farmer in the parable that is spreading the seed far and wide. We know that some of the seed will grow, some will die, and some will be choked by weeds, but as a farmer we still sow it. We need to put our faith out there - which sometimes is risky business.
Is that easy to do all of the time? No, absolutely it is not. Is everyone going to be a great evangelist like Billy Graham and his family? No, we all have different gifts (remember stay in your lane).
However, all Christians have the obligation to share our faith in word and deed. Our actions and words may be the only Jesus that someone sees.
So, put yourself out there? Absolutely! Be Jesus to someone so that the seed of faith may have the opportunity to grow. What the other person does with that is their responsibility. If the person is receptive, then perhaps that seed will grow and flourish into a tall tree that is a witness to many and glorifying to God.
